WISE Employment is excited to announce its two-year coaches’ partnership with Hawthorn FC’s AFLW team ahead of the club’s debut season kicking off in late August.
Season seven will be a history-making one, marking the first time all 18 AFL clubs have a corresponding women’s team. Welcoming four new clubs including Hawthorn, the AFLW is now the largest employer of women’s elite sport in Australia.
Not only will the partnership with WISE Employment provide commercial support to the club in its inaugural season, but it will also assist the team with employment opportunities and professional and personal development off the field.
Heading up Hawthorn’s first-ever women’s team is Bec Goddard OAM, a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in Australian sport. Goddard holds the rare title of coaching in two elite women’s sports; the AFLW and WNBL. Last year, it was announced that she would lead a league-first-all-female coaching panel of Hawthorn VFLW, alongside her full-time career with the Australian Federal Police.
The entire Hawthorn AFLW coaching panel will proudly don the WISE Employment logo on their apparel and in round eight, WISE will work closely with the club ahead of its inaugural AFLW Pride Match against GWS at Henson Park on Sunday 16 October.
Hawthorn CEO Justin Reeves is thrilled to partner with WISE Employment, uniting on a mission to support elite sportswomen and inspire the next generation of athletes
“Both Hawthorn and WISE Employment are committed to empowering women to reach their full potential both on and off the field, which is why this partnership is a great fit for the Hawks’ debut AFLW season.”
WISE Employment Deputy CEO Ary Laufer was also delighted to begin this two-year journey with Hawthorn.
“We look forward to working together to encourage the club’s broader community to get behind our shared mission to promote diversity and inclusion, as well as empower women in every aspect of their lives.”
WISE Employment will aim to be at the forefront of helping shape female sporting leaders and the next generation of Hawthorn AFLW talent.
To celebrate the release of the partnership, WISE and Hawthorn are giving away seven Hawthorn AFLW memberships for the 2022 season. Click the image below to enter.
