Partners in Recovery (PIR)

WISE Employment is a consortium member of Partners in Recovery (PIR) in South East Melbourne and Western Sydney, part of the Federal Government-funded health reform program that provides wide-ranging support services to people with persistent and severe long-term mental illness.

Partners in Recovery assists people who are experiencing gaps in their services provision and will help them to find the right support, customised to their unique circumstances. Services include mental health, employment, housing, education, emergency health services, as well as drug- and alcohol rehabilitation services.

Partners in Recovery offers assistance to people are often homeless, reliant on income support and have a life expectancy 30 years below the national average.

The Partners in Recovery initiative is transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Partners in Recovery, Victoria

WISE Cranbourne is the first WISE Employment office to offer Partners in Recovery in the state of Victoria. The Partners in Recovery program assists an estimated 1,200 people in the Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia regions.

The Partners in Recovery team at WISE Cranbourne consists of three support facilitators who are building relationships with support services providers in the area and work collaboratively with them to provide a comprehensive service to clients. This process starts with understanding each client’s individual needs, identifying what support services they need and assisting them to access these services and stay connected.

Partners in Recovery, Western Sydney

WISE Employment is a consortium member of Partners in Recovery (PIR) in Western Sydney.

The Partners in Recovery program assists an estimated 1,000 people in Western Sydney. Lead by WentWest, the Western Sydney Medicare Local, Partners in Recovery in Western Sydney aims to help people in Blacktown, Auburn, the Hills and Parramatta.

WISE Employment provides Partners in Recovery services from its Auburn office. Other consortium members that WISE Employment collaborates with to provide an integrated approach that assists people with mental illness include: Aftercare, RichmondPRA, Care Connect Ltd, Mission Australia, and Uniting Care Mental Health.
