What is a Disability Support Worker?
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide support for people living with disability to thrive in their daily lives and support them to achieve their goals. This may include supporting people with disability to engage and participate in their community as well as providing personalised in-home support. It’s not always easy, but it is one of the most rewarding jobs out there.
About the program
The program will be run online full time for 7 weeks starting on Monday, 25 October 2021.
In this program, you’ll get the skills and training you need to get a job as a Disability Support Worker. It will be delivered online by Cerebral Palsy Alliance (RTO No. 90213). At the end, you will have a guaranteed interview with an employer, that we’ll help you prepare for.
This program covers more than just what you need to know as a Disability Support Worker. It equips you with everything you need to get a job and start your career.
- Technical Skills – You will learn essential skills such as workplace health and safety, providing individual support and first aid.
- Behaviour and Mindset Lessons – These lessons will help you tackle any problem, work effectively in teams and communicate in the workplace.
- Employment Essentials – The program will help you prepare for employment with workshops on CV writing and interview preparation.
- Mentorship and Support – A dedicated mentor will help support you throughout the program and into your new career.
This program will allow you to complete part of a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) delivered by Cerebral Palsy Alliance (4 units of competency). This is nationally recognised training subsidised by the government for eligible participants. Cerebral Palsy Alliance, RTO No. 90213.
