What are Workforce Australia employment services?
The Workforce Australia program is a Government initiative to help more Australians find work by providing eligible job seekers with the individual support they need to up-skill, prepare and stay in employment. WISE Employment currently offers Workforce Australia services in various locations across New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, and Victoria.
Am I eligible for Workforce Australia?
You might be eligible for Workforce Australia services if you are:
- Unemployed (short or long-term)
- Receiving Centrelink payments, including JobSeeker
- A parent returning to work after caring for family
- A retrenched worker or the partner of one
- A person with disability with participation requirements
- A newly arrived refugee, visa holder, or asylum seeker
- A mature-age worker (55+) looking for employment
- A young person or student meeting eligibility criteria
Some participants qualify for provider-led services, while others may access online support. Eligibility is assessed based on individual circumstances.

What employment support can WISE provide me?
Our friendly team have been helping people find and maintain work for nearly 30 years. We understand everyone is unique and will require support in different ways. WISE services are tailored and flexible to accommodate your individual needs.
For example, WISE can support you by:
- Getting to know you, your goals, circumstances and unique skills
- Creating a tailored job plan to suit your induvial needs
- Assisting you with your cover letter and resume writing to ensure your application stands out
- Helping you prepare for interviews
- Talking to employers on your behalf
- Providing advice on the labour market in your area
- Helping you gain additional skills and experience to assist you on your job search
- Helping you to meet your mutual obligations
- Connecting you with relevant community groups and organisations
- Providing ongoing support in your new role when needed
WISE also offers specific programs for those 50 years and older looking for employment and assistance for women via WISE Women, CALD Services (visa holders with working rights attached and on Income Support) and ex-offender services (including Pre-Release via Direct Registration).
How do I sign up for Workforce Australia?
To sign up for Workforce Australia services, you will first need to get in touch with Centrelink to determine your eligibility for the program. You can do this via your myGov account by following these steps:
- Sign in to myGov.
- Select View and link services.
- Select Link on the Workforce Australia tile.
- You’ll be asked to enter some details and then select Next.
- Choose where you want your activation code sent and select Next.
- Enter your activation code and select Next.

Can I change my Workforce Australia provider?
Already registered with Centrelink? You can ask them to register you with WISE Employment as your chosen service provider.
If you are already with a Workforce Australia provider, you can still transfer to your local WISE office. Call the National Customer Service Line (NCSL) during business hours on 1800 805 260 and request a transfer to WISE Employment.
