When Gary Clark, Manager at Granite Transformations in Western Australia, first considered using a recruitment agency, he had his doubts. Atash’s journey to Granite Transformations
Atash’s story didn’t start out easy.
“I grew up in India and came to Australia to further my education with a masf<imgter’s in professional communication,” Atash explains. “But as a student, you’re only allowed to work a certain amount of hours. So, I took jobs at BP and KFC to support myself, paying for my fees and rent. After I graduated, I struggled to find a job in advertising. Without experience, no one wanted to take me on.” With no luck in advertising, Atash switched to warehousing, where he spent the next decade. However, when the company he was working for shut down, things took a serious turn. Atash found himself out of work and, soon after, without a place to live. “When the company shut down, I was out of options,” Atash recalls. “I lost my job, and without any other experience, it was hard to find new work. I ended up homeless.” That’s when WISE Employment stepped in, helping Atash get back on his feet and eventually connecting him with Granite Transformations.

Atash now plays a key role at Granite Transformations, working in their factory.
“Atash is responsible for our factory. He prepares the benchtops, assembles cabinets, drives the forklift, and keeps the factory clean. He’s our main forklift operator, and his work has been invaluable to the team,” says Gary.
