I’m not registered with Centrelink, what’s next for me?

As from 1 July 2021, you will have to be receiving government benefits such as an income support payment (e.g. JobSeeker payment, Parenting payment, Carer payment, Youth allowance) or disability support pension (DSP) if you are a new DES customer registering with WISE.

Centrelink will conduct an ESAt (Employment Services Assessment) to verify that you have a medical condition/injury/disability and, subsequently, determine that you are eligible for Disability Employment Services (DES).

Please get in touch with your local WISE office to discuss further. The WISE team would be able to talk you through and help you with the process. Find your local WISE Employment office or free-call our team on 1800 685 105.

You can get in touch with Centrelink by visiting your local Centrelink office, or creating a myGov account that is linked to Centrelink.

What if I have another employment services provider?

Want to make a switch? We’re flattered. If you’d like to become registered with WISE,  please call the National Customer Service Line on 1300 854 414 and request a transfer to WISE Employment. We look forward to helping you find work and access related support services.

I’m not eligible for DES, are there other options for me?

Yes. Head over to jobactive. You may be eligible for employment assistance by WISE Employment under jobactive if you live in NSW, VIC or NT, you don’t identify as having a disability/injury/health condition, and you are looking for work.

Instead of registering your interest online, we recommend the following:

If you are already registered with Centrelink, but you’re not yet registered with an employment services provider, you can ask Centrelink to direct you to WISE Employment as your first choice jobactive employment services provider.

If you’re not yet registered with Centrelink, please register with them first. You can then ask Centrelink to be referred to WISE Employment.

Once Centrelink has referred you to WISE Employment, please register as a WISE job seeker by calling/visiting in person your nearest WISE jobactive office.

I’m a job seeker, but none of the above applies to me.

We offer a wide range of specialist job seeker programs and services. Find out how we may be able to support you.
