WISE Employment expands its dedicated LGBTQIA+ program into Victoria
Following the successful launch of an Australian-first inclusive employment program in New South Wales, WISE Employment is pleased to announce Rainbow WISE will be expanding into Victoria this month.
Rainbow WISE is a targeted program for the LGBTQIA+ community, promoting awareness and understanding in the employment space. It supports customers to re-skill, change careers and connect with like-minded people, while overcoming any barriers to employment success.
The program also seeks out employers who promote diversity programs and support an inclusive workplace, ensuring customers feel respected, safe and understood. The new Victorian arm will see clients assigned with a dedicated Case Manager to provide tailored support through face-to-face or virtual appointments, with access to WISE Employment’s LGBTQIA+ support network group and community-based activities.
WISE is continuing to grow its Rainbow WISE program, taking over the operational helm of Expression Australia’s Working OUT Program – another employment service supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community who may be facing barriers throughout their job pathways.
Ary Laufer, Executive of Strategy, Quality & Partnerships at WISE Employment says programs like these can be life-changing for individuals.
“It’s been incredible to see the transformation of clients who have come through the Rainbow WISE doors in NSW, and we’re excited to keep growing such an important program at a community level for so many in Victoria,” says Ary.
Since the launch of Rainbow WISE in NSW nine months ago, 83 customers have signed up for the program, with 43 of them already placed into work.
The Rainbow WISE Victoria program will officially launch in February 2022 and will be split amongst the CBD and Preston offices, with 190 clients coming across from Expression Australia.
