GradWISE Industry Accessibility Week
From 21-25 June 2021, GradWISE will be holding its second Industry Accessibility Week after the success of the first event in February. The sessions provide recent, and soon to be graduates, with options for graduate and career opportunities for students living with a disability.
Throughout the week, GradWISE will be joined by speakers from inclusive organisations. They will talk you through their graduate opportunities and provide tips on making your application stand out.
The GradWISE’s Industry Accessibility Week will run from Monday, 21 to Friday, 25 June 2021, starting daily at 9:30 am and running until 2:30 pm (AEST). All sessions and group activities will be hosted via Zoom, so you can join or leave at any time during the event.

Monday, 21 June 2021
Session one: Australian Government Digital Transformation Agency – 9:30am to 11:00am AEST
The second Accessibility Week is kicking off with the Digital Transformation Agency. The department will take us through current opportunities along with the Digital Careers Pathways program, which is “making career options in government more flexible than ever.”
Session two: KPMG – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST
KPMG is an international network of professional firms that deliver a range of services to government and not-for-profit sectors. Find out about their graduate program designed so you can explore your strengths and abilities further.
Lunchtime activity: Dancing – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST
GradWISE Program Lead and experienced salsa teacher Daria is ready to get you moving. This activity will boost your energy and concentration levels by taking you through exciting salsa steps!
Session three: Victoria State Government Justice and Community Safety – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST
Are you looking for a career that allows you to work across a range of public issues, has an inclusive and supportive environment, and will make a positive impact on the wider community? Then this is a session you don’t want to miss. Learn about the department’s graduate program and pathway for candidates with a disability.

Session one: Telstra – 9:30am to 11:00am AEST
WISE partner Telstra will start day two of the Industry Accessibility Week. Discover the wide range of graduate opportunities they have within their business, including network engineering, product design, cybersecurity, technology consulting and corporate positions.
Session two: NSW Government Customer Service – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST
Discover the career paths, culture and support available at NSW’s Department of Customer Service. Over 30 units in the department work across various projects, including bushfire relief and health and safety initiatives.
Lunchtime activity: Trivia – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST
Test your general trivia knowledge and see who will be the Trivia Champion!
Session three: Australian Network on Disability (AND) – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST
The Australian Network on Disability is on a mission to “advance the equitable inclusion of people with disability in all aspects of business”. Learn more about how they’re working to achieve equality and how you can get involved.

Session one: Victorian State Government – 9:30am to 11:00am AEST
The Victorian Government are looking for graduates from a range of backgrounds and lived experiences. Their graduate program includes diverse roles across several departments, a competitive salary and guaranteed employment at the end of the program.
Session two: Fulton Hogan – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST
Fulton Hogan employs over 7,800 staff in over 100 countries. The construction company focuses on their employee’s wellbeing and are looking for graduated passionate about their work.
Lunchtime activity: Meditation – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST
Meditation has several benefits, including increased concentration and calming your nervous system. The GradWISE team will take you through a 20 minute guided meditation to help you reset for the afternoon.
Session three: Ernst & Young (EY) – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST

Global consulting company, Accenture, will take us through Thursday morning. Discover their graduate program, what you’ll learn while working for the company, and advice on making your application stand out.
Session two: Richmond FC – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST

The City of Port Phillip extends from Melbourne’s Southbank, along the waterfront down to Elwood. The council offers a culture for employees to grow professionally and personally within an inclusive and diverse environment.
Session two: Cisco – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST
Cisco is a global software company that have a range of intern and graduate roles available. These roles range across various departments such as customer experience, engineering, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, sales security and more.
Lunchtime activity: Reflection and action points – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST
As we near the end of the GradWISE Industry Accessibility Week, we reflect on what we’ve learned, the opportunities available and how to action the next steps of your application process.
Session three: AECOM – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST
To close the week, we talk to AECOM about their graduate opportunities and how they’re working towards building future proof cities which support a healthy environment.
