The GradWISE Industry Accessibility Week

GradWISE is launching straight into 2021 with the GradWISE Industry Accessibility Week. The information week provides recent, and soon to be graduates, with career opportunities for students living with a disability.

The sessions include speakers from various organisations ready to answer your questions about their company and graduate opportunities. Plus, they will provide tips on how to make your application stand out.

GradWISE’s Industry Accessibility Week will run from Monday, 8 to Friday, 12 February 2021, kicking off daily at 9:30 am until 2:30 pm (AEST). All sessions and group activities are optional, allowing you to join or leave at any time during the event.

Monday, 8 February 2021

Session one: Deloitte – 9:30am to 11:00am AEST

Accessibility Week is kicking off with a speaker from Australia’s top graduate employer, Deloitte. Learn about the range of opportunities Deloitte offers Graduates across varying industries.

Session two: Fusion – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST

Fusion is a graduate recruitment organisation working with companies to fill their graduate positions. Experience how Fusion can help you find meaningful placements in diverse environments.

Lunch time activity: Dancing with Daria – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST

Get moving with GradWISE coach and salsa teacher, Daria. She will be boosting your energy and concentration levels by teaching you exciting salsa steps!

Session three: Victoria State Government – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST

Ever wondered what it’s like to work in the public sector? You’re in luck! The Victoria State Government will talk us through their graduate program, career pathways, future opportunities, and inclusive work environment.

Tuesday, 9 February 2021

Session one: Telstra – 9:30am to 11:00am AEST

Day two of Accessibility Week starts with an engaging talk from a long-standing WISE partner, Telstra. Discover the range of opportunities offered in Telstra’s graduate program, including network engineering, data analytics, product design, technology consulting, cybersecurity and corporate positions.

Session two: Coles group – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST

Coles offer a wide range of corporate and career opportunities for graduates. Jobs include, but are not limited to, IT services, marketing, business development and customer engagement. Join the session to learn about starting your career in the Coles graduate program.

Lunch time activity: Trivia with Jonathon – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST

GradWISE Career Coach, Jonathon, will be testing your general trivia knowledge. Join in to see who will be the 2021 Trivia Champion!

Session three: GHD Impact – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST

GHD Impact is a global company who offer a wide range of opportunities in and around the construction industry. Their two-year graduate program promises mentoring, professional development and the chance to work on local community projects.

Session one: Australian Government Department of Defence – 9:30am to 11:00am AEST

Looking for a career where you can protect Australia’s national interests? This information session uncovers the wide range of career pathways offered in the department, including cybersecurity, science and human resources.

Session two: St John of God Health Care – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST

St John of God Health Care is committed to providing employment opportunities to people with a disability. Their graduate program offers hands-on experience for nurses and midwives, plus, a comprehensive orientation program and much more.

Lunch time activity: Meditation with Chardee – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST

GradWISE Career Coach, Chardee, will be taking you through a guided meditation, allowing you to push past your fears so you can show up as your best self.

Session three: Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST

The ABS Graduate Development Program provides an innovative and diverse work environment for those looking to enter into data science, information and communication technology (ICT) careers. Join the session to discover more and how to apply for the 2022 program.

Session one: Accenture – 9:30am to 11:00am AEST

Join the global consulting company, Accenture, on Thursday morning. In this session, you will learn about their graduate program, along with advice on how to make your application stand out.

Session two: Ernst & Young (EY) – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST

Applications for the Ernst & Young 2022 Graduate Program are about to open! Join the session to receive tips on the application process and learn how their inclusive culture enables students to start making an impact before joining the team.

Lunchtime activity: Networking with the Australian Network on Disability (AND) – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST

Career Coach, Jonathon, will be joined by AND to host a networking event where you can find out about additional AND programs coming up in 2021.

Session three: IBM – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST

IBM are a consulting group looking to onboard graduations in business, analytical and digital careers. Current roles available in 2022 include; Application Consultant, Business Transformation Consultant, Package Consultant, Security Consultant and Strategy Consultant.

Session one: National Broadband Network (nbn) – 9:30am to 11:00am AEST

Learn how they are committed to building an inclusive culture which values all perspectives, skills and people. Plus, find out how to join their team in 2022.

Session two: NSW Government Department of Planning, Industry and Environment – 11:30am to 12:30pm AEST

Join us to discover what it’s like working for the New South Wales Government and how they are committed to providing equal opportunities to their diverse workforce. Graduate roles include a wide range of career paths, including legal, analytics, policy and more.

Lunch time activity: Reflection and action points – 1:00pm to 1:20pm AEST

Join GradWISE Career Coach, Crystal, for a reflection on the week and advice about the application processes ahead.

Session three: Australia Government IP Australia – 1:30pm to 2:30pm AEST
